Cable & Cable Management

From the cable itself through to the ties, sleeving, heat shrink and labelling that keep it fastened, protected and identified, we supply franchised, traceable cable and cable management products for demanding aerospace, defence, rail, marine and industrial applications.

Whether you’re specifying high-performance cable for a harsh environment or the fixings and identification systems to keep a finished harness organised and compliant, our team can help you find a solution that’s already proven in your sector, not one you have to test and hope for the best.

Cable Ties & Fixings

Our cable ties and fixings secure and organise cable runs and harnesses, keeping installations tidy, supported and compliant with routing and strain relief requirements. Available across a range of materials and constructions to suit temperature, chemical exposure and mechanical load requirements.

A well-organised harness isn’t just tidier — it’s more reliable, easier to inspect and quicker to maintain.

Heat Shrink Tubing

Our heat shrink tubing provides insulation, strain relief and environmental protection at cable ends, joints and terminations. Available in a range of shrink ratios and materials, including moulded shapes for more complex termination geometries, to suit your application’s electrical and mechanical requirements.

Standard tubing or moulded shapes — which do you need?

Standard heat shrink tubing covers most straight cable runs and simple terminations. Moulded shapes are pre-formed for more complex geometries — breakouts, cable-to-connector transitions and multi-branch harness points — where standard tubing can’t provide a clean, reliable seal. We can help you work out which fits your termination before you commit.

A termination is only as reliable as its weakest point of protection — heat shrink is engineered so that point holds.

Cable Labels & Identification

Our cable labelling and identification systems keep complex installations traceable and easy to maintain, supporting fault-finding, modification and compliance throughout the life of the installation. Available in a range of formats and materials suited to the environment the label needs to survive in.

An unlabelled cable is a problem waiting for the next engineer who has to trace it — these systems are built so that engineer isn’t you.

Cable & Wiring

For the cable itself, we’re an authorised distributor for Amokabel, a specialist manufacturer of high-performance industrial cable engineered for extreme heat, flame, chemical and radiation environments, serving aerospace, defence, marine and rail applications.

Backshells, Bulkhead Glands & Conduit Systems

Where a cable or harness terminates at a connector, EMC screening and environmental sealing need to carry through the termination, not stop at the cable end. We’re an authorised distributor for KEC, who design and manufacture high-performance EMC backshells and bulkhead glands, alongside conduit systems, D Type/M12/Profibus connectors and accessories including metal braids, sleeving, shielding and connector mounting plates.

KEC products provide an environmental seal equal to or higher than the rating of the connector itself, with enhanced EMC screening conductivity — and are approved to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EN 9100, serving defence, aerospace, naval, rail, power distribution, nuclear, automation and medical applications.

A perfectly shielded cable is only as good as the backshell and gland sealing its termination — these are engineered so that link in the chain doesn’t let you down.

Why Work With Active Electronics
  • Source obsolete or hard-to-find cable management components: saving you time, effort and engineering resource when a part’s gone end-of-life
  • Application engineering support: hands-on guidance from our team, so you specify the right tie, tubing or label the first time
  • Access to hundreds of manufacturers worldwide: one point of contact for your entire cable and cable management supply chain
  • Tailored solutions: every installation and environment is different, so we don’t push a one-size-fits-all product
  • Traceable supply chain: full documentation from source to delivery, so you can evidence compliance to your prime contractor
  • Anti-counterfeit assurance: in-house inspection and verification measures on the components that go into your build, for peace of mind
  • Significant cost savings: through sourcing optimisation and vendor consolidation across your cable and cable management requirements
Cable & Cable Management FAQs

Standard tubing suits straight cable runs and simple terminations. Moulded shapes are pre-formed for more complex geometries, such as breakouts and cable-to-connector transitions, where standard tubing can’t provide a clean, reliable seal.

It depends on the temperature, chemical exposure and mechanical load your installation will see. [Confirm with client: specific material/temperature guidance to include here?]

Yes — we’re an authorised distributor for Amokabel’s high-performance industrial cable range, alongside our HellermannTyton cable management products, so cable and the accessories to manage it can come from a single supply chain.
